Reflecting on 2024: A Year of Accelerated Change

Looking back, 2024 was epic in so many ways, and for me specifically, one of those rare "dark night of the soul" years. Fundamental shifts shook me to the core. We've all been there, of course—some of us multiple times. 2024 was a year of massive uncertainty and upheaval, but also profound transformation. It forced me to confront not just the trajectory of how and why I work, but also how I create, learn, and engage with the world at large.

AI—and soon AGI—is reshaping everything at a pace that still takes my breath away. For me, this past year marked a pivotal shift: stepping away from the well-known role of professional Knowledge Worker into the emerging frontier of the AI-augmented Prompt Worker. AI is not just about adopting new tools; it's about embracing a new mindset—one rooted in purpose, agency, creativity, and transparency. This shift feels like decentralization with a twist: we humans have a new and equal partner in the dance of getting things done.

My hope is that as I make my work visible and share experiments and lessons learned, you will feel motivated to explore alongside me. Here's to an amazing 2025!

What Inspired This Site

Show Your Work! by Austin Kleon

I owe the inspiration for this site to Austin Kleon's book Show Your Work! It was the nudge I needed to live more fully by one of the key PowerShift® Principles: Clarity (as much transparency and visibility as you can stomach). The book reminded me that creativity isn't about waiting for perfection. It's about sharing early—messy and imperfect—and trusting that it will inspire others to do the same.This site is my attempt to do just that—to invite you along on this journey, share the experiments and failures, and celebrate the breakthroughs that define my path.

What's keeping you from building?

Even as a decades-long GTD practitioner skilled in identifying next actionable steps, I still battle the same productivity demons that sometimes cause us all to stumble. Even being a die-hard Holacracy tension processor, forever committed to finding workable (not perfect) ways forward, does not provide immunity. We are all suseptable to these universal challenges, they can creep up on even the most seasoned creators.

Good habits, practices, and even good memes can help. I'm grateful to my good friend and colleague Vlad Shumov , who shared the Make Stuff meme as a nudge to keep me building. I'm also thankful for my many friends and colleagues who remind me everyday to take risks, create, and share my work with the world.

Seeing the Traps That Keep Us Stuck Is the Easy Part

Imposter syndrome: Who am I to do this?
Fear of failure: What if it's not good enough?
Chasing perfection: Instead of aiming for "good enough to ship."
Procrastination: I'll start tomorrow (or maybe next week).
Underestimating small steps: Forgetting that incremental progress adds up over time.
Fear of criticism: Worrying about what others might think.
Overthinking: Getting stuck in analysis paralysis instead of taking action.

Getting out of these traps is the hard part. The only remedy I've found is: practice, practice, practice. Find a practice, a tribe, or a ritual that you can return to over and over again.
